RENTAL INVENTORY
We have a variety of Lyon & Healy and Wurlitzer harps and one Salvi available for rent. We also have Swanson Lever harps and Lyon & Healy Troubadour harps available as well. All harps are in excellent structural condition and are regulated each time they go out.
Pedal harps are available in a semi-grand and concert grand size. The lever harps are 33 and 36-string instruments, with Loveland levers on all strings.
LONG TERM RENTALS
Harps are rented for a minimum of 3 months. After the initial 3-month period is up, the renter may rent indefinitely on a month-to-month basis.
The rental harps are in Boston and must be picked up and returned there at the renter’s expense. We can deliver the harp if necessary. Within greater Boston, the delivery charge will be $115. Outside of Boston, the charge will depend on the distance involved.
The renter must insure the harp against fire, theft, and accidental damage with an agency specializing in musical instrument insurance. Insurance rates run around $160 to $200 per year.
If a harp is rented for 11 months, and the rent is paid on time, then the 12th month is free! This will reduce a monthly rent of $170 to $156, or a rent of $230 to $210.
There is never any obligation to buy an instrument. But there is a rent-to-own clause in the rental contract. A maximum of 6 months of paid rent can be applied to the purchase of any instrument that belongs to Swanson Harp Company that is for sale.
RENTAL RATES FOR LONG-TERM RENTALS
Small pedal harp (Lyon & Healy style 12 and 14, or the Wurlitzer equivalent) when available..............$150 per month.
Semi-grand harp with straight soundboard, 45 or 46 strings.........$180 per month.
Semi-grand harp with extended soundboard, 45 or 46 strings......$210 per month.
Concert grand harp with 47 strings.......$240 per month.
Lever harps with 33 or 36 strings......$70 per month.
SHORT TERM RENTALS
Harps may be rented for periods shorter than 3 months. The charges will depend entirely on the circumstances of the rental.
RENTAL AREA
Harps can only be rented within 250 miles of Boston. Harps can only be rented within the United States and will not be rented across international borders.
